Multifamily Program Saves Tons!
3C-REN’s Multifamily Home Energy Savings helps property owners save energy and money with energy efficiency upgrades at a reduced cost.
At an apartment complex in Simi Valley, the property owner wanted to upgrade the complex’s slider doors. 3C-REN scoped the doors, but also found more energy-saving opportunities at the site to create a more holistic upgrade.
Additional upgrades included switching from gas-fueled to electric-fueled heat pump water heaters, swapping gas furnaces for heat pump HVAC units that offer both heating and cooling, and installing smart thermostats, among other upgrades.
We estimate the project will save more than 55 metric tons of CO2e, the equivalent of 6,200 gallons of gasoline consumed. The improvements will save the property owner maintenance and operation costs, and tenants will benefit from a more comfortable living space with healthier indoor air quality. That’s a win-win-win!
