Taking the High Road in the Building Industry
California has proven that it is possible to improve our economy and the environment at the same time. However, we also understand that it is critical that our transition to a carbon neutral economy benefits all communities—especially those that have been traditionally underserved. That’s where the High Road comes in.
The “High Road” is a new way of looking at jobs. It’s an economic strategy that emphasizes high-quality jobs, environmental sustainability, and greater economic opportunities for tri-county workers and businesses. Simply put, the High Road focuses on equity, climate, and jobs (as described by the California Workforce Development Board).
Building the High Road requires implementing strategies on both the supply and the demand side of the green labor market—in order to grow, diversify, and upskill our workforce, and to create high-quality jobs and support the employers that offer them.
How can we train our construction workforce for future jobs and deliver skills and competitiveness for employers? How can the “High Road” help ALL tri-county communities?
To learn more about the High Road and its application to the Tri-County region, please join 3C-REN on Friday, November 13 from 9:00 – 11:30AM for our Fall Regional Forum: Taking the High Road.
